Learning how to draw an airplane is a great way for kids to develop their fine motor skills and spatial awareness.
Plus, it’s just plain fun! Here is a step by step guide to help your child draw an airplane.
How to draw an airplane
Flying is one of the most amazing feats humans have ever accomplished.
What could be more incredible than to zip through the sky at hundreds of miles per hour?
Airplanes make this possible and have become a staple in today’s society.
They’re not only used for transportation, but also for recreation and combat.
These powerful machines have captured the hearts and minds of people around the world.
If you’re like most people, you probably look at an airplane and think, “That looks complicated. There’s no way I could ever draw one.”
But we’re here to show you that anyone can draw an airplane with a little bit of practice.
In this blog, we’ll give you three easy methods for drawing an airplane.
So grab a pencil and some paper, and let’s get started!
1. How to Draw an Airplane step by step

Step 1: Draw the body of the plane.
Draw a long, curved line for the body of the plane. This line should be slightly curved inward at the top.

Step 2: Draw the tail of the plane
Draw a curved line to the back of the plane to represent the tail helps to stabilize the airplane in flight.

Step 3: Depict the wings and window
Draw two smaller curved line on either side of the fuselage. These will be the wings.
The wings are attached to the fuselage and provide lift, which helps the airplane fly.
Sketch out the small window at the front of the plane.

Step 4: Sketch out the portholes.
Sequentially draw three small identical circles on the aircraft body.

Step 5: Color the airplane
Now that the airplane is drawn, it’s time to add some color! For the body of the airplane, use a light yellow color. The wings can be a dark yellow color.

Step 1: Begin by drawing a long, curved line for the body of the airplane

Step 2: Draw the window

Step 3: Sketch out the portholes.
Sequentially draw five small identical circles on the aircraft body.

Step 4: Add one wing.
On either side of the body, draw a wing. Each wing should be a long, curved line that’s slightly curved inward at the top.

Step 5: Draw the second wing.
Repeat the previous step and draw the wing of the same shape at the top.

Step 6: Sketch out the tail.
Draw the tail of the plane using a curved line.

Step 7: Color the airplane
Once you have the basic shape of the airplane drawn, you can start to add some color.
Airplanes are usually painted with bright, bold colors that make them easy to spot in the sky. Have fun with it and be creative!

The airplane is ready! I hope you enjoyed the creative process and are pleased with the outcome of your work.
If you wish to enhance your drawing, feel free to add variously shaped clouds around the plane.
Now that you know how to draw an airplane, get out your paper and pencil and give it a try!
